University celebrates its overseas campuses

PA 129/09 The University of Nottingham has produced a new film celebrating its world class teaching and learning, cutting edge research and vibrant student life on its two award winning overseas campuses. Described by The Times as 'the nearest Britain has to a truly global university' there are now over 7,000 students from 70 countries across the world studying at Nottingham's campuses in China and Malaysia. These campuses offer unique opportunities for students to study abroad through the University's Inter-Campus exchange programmes as well as opportunities for international students to study in Malaysia and China through its Study Abroad Programme. Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Greenaway, said: "Nottingham is a university with genuine global reach and this is manifested most clearly by our presence in China and Malaysia. These developments are offering our own students and students from partner universities, outstanding opportunities to experience learning and living in another culture. As well as being of value in its own right, this also has the benefit of enhancing their future employability." - The University of Nottingham was the first foreign university to establish an independent campus in China. The £40m campus on the outskirts of the historic city of Ningbo opened in 2004.
