Meat production causes climate-harming CO2 emissions. Furthermore, many animals suffer under livestock conditions. A meat tax could lower consumption and the money could be used, for example, to improve conditions. A new study by Grischa Perino and Henrike Schwickert from Universität Hamburg reveals how the population responds to this idea. The study has now been published in Nature Food . There were 2,800 participants in the online survey.
