Large quantities of carbon dioxide are released into the air every year during the fermentation of wine and beer, as well as in biomethane plants. Circea, a BFH-HAFL spin-off, wants to change this: with an innovative concept that captures the CO2 directly on site and makes it usable for industry.

Extreme droughts weaken ecosystems

Environment

Extreme and prolonged droughts jeopardize the stability of ecosystems worldwide. An international study in Science shows that their productivity declines further with each year of drought. BFH-HAFL was the only Swiss institution involved, providing data and contributing important findings from a Central European grassland.
